A little behind the ball as other teams have been interviewing for two weeks, we learned yesterday that the Chicago Bears have finally started their search for a new defensive coordinator. The first name revealed was Indianapolis Colts DBs coach Jonathan Gannon. Gannon has helped be the mastermind behind one of the best defenses in the league and would be a very interesting fit.According to ESPN, the Bears have found a second a target. Todd Archer of ESPN reports that the Bears have also asked permission to speak to Dallas Cowboys senior defensive assistant George Edwards. While the Cowboys didn't exactly have mind blowing defense this year, Edwards was Minnesota's defensive coordinator from 2014-19 so he's very familiar with the division. Edwards might be more willing to leave his current situation than Gannon as Edwards was looking to get promoted by the Cowboys to defensive coordinator but the Cowboys decided to go outside the organization and hire Dan Quinn. More details to come.
