Jared Allen was a blink and you'll miss it Bears member, He's better remembered for his time with the Chiefs and Vikings. He played college ball at Idaho State University and was drafted by Kansas in the 2004 NFL Draft. After four years he went to the Vikings then six years later to the Bears, then played with the Panthers appearing in Super Bowl 50. He was a five-time pro-bowl pick, and four-time All-Pro pick, recording 136 sacks in 12 years. He then took a major interest in curling after he retired.
From 2007 to 2013 he recorded at least 11 sacks per season. When he came to the bears in 2014 he averaged 5.5 sacks over 18 games before finishing with the Panthers.
In retrospect this seemed like a poor decision since they replaced Peppers with Allen only to have Peppers play another five years, averaging 8.2 sacks per year. He was nominated for the Hall of Fame but lost out to Peyton Manning, Charles Woodson, and Calvin Johnson.
