BREAKING: A Texas court has revived the sexual assault claim against Cowboys owner Jerry Jones
Reports this week have brought unwelcome news for Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, as a sexual assault claim against him has been revived by a Texas Appellate Court. The claim dates back to a 2018 incident where he allegedly kissed and forcibly grabbed a woman without her consent in the Tom Landry room at AT&T Stadium. The case was previously dismissed due to the woman's failure to identify herself in pleadings. The plaintiff has since revealed that the incident has had a significant impact on her day-to-day life, causing her difficulty in focusing and completing tasks, and anxiety around men.
The original complaint also claimed that former Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett and players Ezekiel Elliott, Tyrone Crawford, and Tyron Smith were present in the same room and witnessed the incident. Additionally, the plaintiff has accused the NFL and the Cowboys of threatening other victims or witnesses to deter further complaints. Jones is now faced with a range of challenges this offseason that he likely did not anticipate.
