"Just a day after we heard that both the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers are expected to make a run at Mitch Trubisky during free agency, the Chicago Bears might have a replacement this week. The Detroit Lions and Matthew Stafford have made it clear they're ready to cut ties and it's going to happen sooner than later. While the Houston Texans and Deshaun Watson continue to stand off, Stafford is actually expected to be traded before the Super Bowl. According to one top NFL reporter, the Bears might be the destination of choice. Albert Breer of NBC Sports reports that the Bears are currently involved in trade talks to bring Stafford to Chicago. At 32 years old, Stafford still has plenty of juice left and threw for a total of 4084 yards and 26 TDs this past season despite being in the mess that is the Lions. Adding Stafford could also be a solid way to keep Allen Robinson around. This will be a very interesting situation to follow over the next couple of days.
