BREAKING: Bears Legend Dick Butkus has Died
Very sad news.
As revealed by TMZ, Bears legend Dick Butkus has died at the age of 80:
Butkus was drafted by the Bears in 1965 and stayed with the team until retiring in 1973.
He finished his career as a 2-time Defensive Player of the Year, 8-time All-Pro, 8-time Pro Bowler, and ranked at number 2 on the 100 Greatest Bears of All Time List.
Butkus was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1979, and will forever be remembered as a Bears legend.
Several reports reveals that he died from a medical emergency and was found dead at the scene. TMZ wrote:
"We're told someone went to check on Butkus at his home on Thursday ... and he was found unresponsive.
Our sources tell us ... paramedics responded to a call for a patient in cardiac arrest at Butkus' residence in Malibu at 12:51 PM. He was pronounced dead at the scene."
