"I don't compare myself to other guys. I like to rewrite history," Williams stated confidently at the NFL Scouting Combine, as reported by NBC Chicago's Josh Schrock.
Despite the Bears' challenges in finding a consistent franchise quarterback, Williams remains unfazed. With the Bears holding the top pick in the 2024 draft, speculation suggests they might trade current quarterback Justin Fields to select Williams.
Addressing the possibility of joining the Bears, Williams expressed enthusiasm, noting their 7-10 record last season. "It's pretty exciting if you can go to a situation like that," he remarked, per ESPN's Stephen Holder.
When asked about his potential contributions to the team, Williams emphasized his leadership qualities and competitive spirit. "A person that cares for his teammates... I'm a fierce competitor," he explained, as reported by ESPN's Courtney Cronin.
In terms of his participation at the combine, Williams decided not to throw and announced that he would skip medical evaluations as well. Instead, he plans to undergo medical assessments during team visits later in the pre-draft process, according to Adam Jahns of The Athletic.
