Just a few days ago, Prescott was confident about reducing his interception numbers this season compared to his turnover-heavy 2022 campaign. He stated, "I am going to lessen my interception numbers. That is a guarantee."
However, during a recent training camp session, Prescott threw a pass that left much to be desired. The ball was intercepted by safety Malik Hooker, and even Hooker couldn't hide his disappointment, yelling, "Come on, Dak," after making the pick.
Interceptions weren't a prominent issue for Prescott until last season, where he surprisingly led all quarterbacks with 15 interceptions, despite missing five games. This was a significant departure from his previous form.
Last year, Prescott's completion rate stood at 66.2%, and he threw for 2,860 yards and 23 touchdowns, but the league-high interceptions became a cause for concern. The Cowboys still managed a 12-5 regular-season record and secured a Wild Card round win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, their journey ended in disappointment with a divisional round loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
Cowboys fans will be closely watching Prescott's progress during training camp, hoping that he can work on these interception issues before the upcoming season. There's still time for him to get back on track and fulfill his promise of fewer interceptions in 2023.
