Darnell Mooney shares his thoughts on the bobbled pass on the last play fo the game
Thursday Night's game ended in a heartbreaking way for the Bears as WR Darnell Mooney was not able to complete the catch in the endzone and he was marked a few inches short of the goalline on 4th and goal. Well, here is what he said during his postgame interview.
"If I just catch the damn ball the first time, we win the game," Mooney said via NBC Sports Chicago.
Mooney also mentioned that he lost the ball in the lights while trying to make the snag.
"At that period of time, I'm literally just telling myself, 'Just please, give me this ball. Give me this ball,'" Mooney said. "I just got to close the game for us. If I want to be that player, I want to be that guy for our team, I got to make that play."
The Bears had plenty of chances to put points on the board. Indeed, the Bears squandered three trips inside the 5-yard-line, coming away with zero points. Despite outgaining the Commanders in yards 392-214 including 238 rushing yards, the red-zone struggles, paired with two crucial turnovers, cost Chicago a victory.
