Despite this week's late-game loss to the Lions, Fields had an otherwise good game. His mistake cost him but he still broke multiple NFL records this week. We've been watching him grow throughout the season and as he does he is beginning to earn the respect of the other players in the league. One of which being Detroit's Alex Anzalone.

«He's a special player, obviously. And he's strong. He's fast. He's elusive. So, he's an impressive player in my opinion. And eventually I got him down and we kept fighting and clawing and we were able to get away with one ... It's huge (back-to-back wins). I think it's just a testament of, like I said, just taking it one day at a time and sticking to the process. Sticking to the script and having trust in Dan and AG (Aaron Glenn) and Ben and what they put together is the game plan.»

Lions head coach Dan Campbell also had some praise for Fields.
«I mean, just probably like y'all, I'm like, ‘well, we've got him. Oh, no, we don't. Oh, we got him. No, we don't.' And then it's like, ‘oh, man, just don't.' You're just hoping, okay, yeah, you want want him down, but you're also hoping he doesn't break out of the pocket. It's broken, but he's staying in there. It's broken, but you're keeping him kind of corralled in there, and we did that. And then come up with a big one there at the end.»
Like him or not Fields is here to stay for now at least. It's been fun seeing him grow and I hope he continues to prove that he's a good fit for Chicago.
