DJ Moore has made it unequivocally clear that he envisions a long-term future with the Chicago Bears.

In a recent story penned by ESPN's Courtney Cronin focusing on the Bears' top receiver, Moore articulated his aspirations. "I would like to do at least five years here and then, shoot, maybe retire here," Moore expressed to Cronin. "That's always the goal ... I thought I was going to be in Carolina forever. I was there for five years, and I don't want to be here shorter than that. I'm looking forward to that."
Moore embarked on his inaugural season with the Bears in spectacular fashion, achieving career-high statistics. He recorded 96 receptions for 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns, boasting an impressive 70.6% catch rate. Cronin noted that Moore received double-digit targets in only four games throughout the season, all of which resulted in victories for the Bears. Moore is hopeful that his targets will increase, especially with the prospect of a new offensive coordinator and a potential change at quarterback.
The initial five seasons of Moore's career were spent with the Carolina Panthers, where he amassed 364 receptions for 5,201 yards and 21 touchdowns in 80 games. In March 2023, Bears General Manager Ryan Poles collaborated with Panthers General Manager Scott Fitterer to bring Moore to Chicago. The trade involved the Bears surrendering their No. 1 pick for Moore, the No. 9 selection in the 2023 NFL draft (Darnell Wright), a 2023 second-rounder (Tyrique Stevenson), a 2024 first-round pick (once again the No. 1 pick), and a 2025 second-round pick.
Moore has proven to be a valuable asset for the Bears since his arrival. Currently, he has two more seasons remaining on his contract before becoming an unrestricted free agent. While discussions about an extension may not occur this offseason, Cronin believes that it will eventually be a priority for the Bears, given Moore's consistent performance and contribution to the team. However, Poles has several key decisions to make before addressing Moore's contract, including matters related to other players on the roster, such as Jaylon Johnson, Darnell Mooney, Cody Whitehair, Eddie Jackson, and Teven Jenkins.
