"Justin Fields eloquently addressed questions about his uncertain future as the Bears' starting quarterback during Wednesday's press conference. As the season enters its final stretch, with only five games remaining and the Bears poised to secure a top-two pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, there's uncertainty about whether Fields can sufficiently convince general manager Ryan Poles and head coach Matt Eberflus that he should be the long-term solution at quarterback for Chicago.

Fields, displaying a commendable perspective in the face of uncertainty, shared his thoughts on the matter. However, wide receiver DJ Moore was unequivocal in expressing his opinion about Fields' future with the Bears.

When informed of Fields' stance on his future, Moore stated on Thursday at Halas Hall, "I didn't know that. If he feels that way, then there's not much we can do except for him to continue being himself. He's a dynamic player and a dynamic quarterback, and we want him here. I've had a great year with him, and that should speak volumes. Ultimately, we should leave the decisions made upstairs, upstairs."

In the 12 games played so far, Moore has recorded 70 receptions for 1,003 yards and six touchdowns. In the eight games where Fields has been the starting quarterback, Moore has caught 50 passes for 792 yards and six touchdowns. If you project these numbers over a 17-game season with a healthy Fields, Moore would be on track for 106 receptions, 1,683 yards, and 13 touchdowns. The chemistry between Moore and Fields has been developed through hours of hard work on and off the field since Moore's arrival in Chicago last March.

Fields had high praise for Moore, saying on Wednesday, "He's great, top to bottom, as a player. Everyone knows he's a great player; he's consistently had over 1,000 yards. He's not only a great player but an even better person and teammate. He came in, a bit quiet at first, but he's always been the same. As you get to know him more, he opens up and becomes an open book. I love him as a teammate, as a person, and he's a valuable asset to the team."

Throughout most of the season, Fields and Moore have formed an excellent partnership. The Bears believed that adding an elite wide receiver would help Fields develop as a passer. While there have been moments of inconsistency, Fields has shown progress during this pivotal third season.

Moore spoke about Fields' growth, saying, "The significant improvement from Year 1 to Year 2 is evident in his passes and decision-making. Year 3 is probably the most critical year, as it was for me. I made significant strides, and for him, being young, he will continue to grow and get better."

Moore hopes that growth continues with him in Chicago, but ultimately, that decision is not in his hands. With only five games left in the season, Fields' future in Chicago may already be out of his control as well."
