The Bearcats cornerback gave his very simple analysis of the upcoming draft class:
While this may seem like crazy talk, it might be somewhat accurate. I don't think you can say without a doubt that he is far and beyond the best player in this draft, but he's in the mix.
A very popular stat that has been going viral in the past few months is that Sauce did not give up a single touchdown in coverage during his 33 games in college. This is simply absurd! He also mentioned during his Combine interview that he does not plan on giving one up in the NFL either!
Here is another quote he said during his interview that shows the type of mindset he possesses:
«I love being left on an island,» Gardner said. «I don't have to worry about anybody else but my man. I feel like I can eliminate the best receiver on the field.»
I have to say, I like the confidence he shows. While it may not be for everyone, it actually fits with the lockdown, physical type of game he plays.
One thing is for sure, Sauce is an amazing prospect, he has the rare combination of size, speed and great game tape. In fact, he is 6"3, weights 200 pounds and ran a 4.41 40 yard dash. This is plain and simply spectacular!
We will now see if the teams that pass on him will regret not listening to his advice...
Here is his highlight tape:
Amazing stuff!
