The Chicago Bears are poised to be one of the most active teams in the upcoming free agency period in March. With a projected $80.3 million in cap space, according to OvertheCap, the Bears have ample resources to address their numerous needs.

General manager Ryan Poles will have a busy offseason ahead, but with significant funds at his disposal, he has the opportunity to make impactful additions to the team.
One area of particular concern for the Bears is their pass rush, which struggled in the 2023 season, ranking 31st in the league with just 30 team sacks. While the acquisition of Montez Sweat from the Washington Commanders provided a boost, more firepower off the edge is still needed.
ESPN's Matt Bowen identified Jonathan Greenard as a perfect fit for the Bears. Coming off a standout season where he recorded 12.5 sacks and ranked sixth in pass-rush win rate, Greenard brings a dynamic presence to the defense. His athleticism and ability to bend around the edge make him a formidable threat to opposing quarterbacks.
Pairing Greenard with Sweat would give Chicago a formidable duo in rushing the passer and significantly bolster their defense. With a solid offseason, including key additions like Greenard, the Bears could emerge as dark horse contenders for the postseason.
Despite their potential, FanDuel Sportsbook currently lists the Bears at +5000 odds to win Super Bowl LIX. However, fans can take advantage of FanDuel's sign-up bonus of $150 with a winning wager of $5.
