The reason behind David Njoku's full mask at last week's game has come to light.
David Njoku, Cleveland Browns' tight end, sustained burns on his face and arm due to a mishap while igniting a fire pit at his residence.
The severity of his injuries became clear when he shared a photo on social media this past Wednesday.
It's commendable to think he managed to play an NFL game despite the discomfort from his blisters.
A day prior to their match against the Ravens on Oct. 1st, the Browns included Njoku in their injury list.
In that match against the Ravens, Njoku delivered his season's best performance, securing six catches for 46 yards. Across four games, he's made 16 catches, accumulating 138 receiving yards.
Additionally, Njoku has introduced a merchandise line, with a portion of sales set to benefit the American Burn Association.
He also intends to raise awareness for survivors of severe burn injuries through the "My Cause, My Cleats" campaign during the NFL's week 13.
