Former Bear Calls it Quits

Signed by the Bears as an undrafted free agent in 2015. Cameron Meredith was a wide receiver who played college football at Illinois State. Initially, he was not invited to the NFL Combine but ended up impressing some scouts at Northwestern University day and got some free agent offers. Despite a prank call during the draft from someone pretending to be Bill Belichick, Meredith went undrafted and went to the bears.

He was fine with the Bears, filled in as the 5th receiver until earning some starting time. Scored here and there, until 2018 when in the third preseason game against the Titans he suffered a season-ending knee injury and was placed on IR. In 2018 he went to the Saints where he sat on injured reserve. In 6 games he completed nine receptions for 114 yards and one touchdown. Released in 2019 by the Saints, he was picked up by the Patriots on a two-year deal. He sat on the PUP list until his release in 2019. In 2021 he signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers after sitting out the 2020 season, and I suppose now he's done. Happy trails Cam, we hardly knew ye.

Cameron tweeted this out.

Here is a clip of Cam as a Bear.
