During his time in the NFL, Brandon Marshall was one of the best wide receivers in the game. Unfortunately, his career was ruined by an injury that was caused at MetLife Stadium.

Marshall was drafted by the Denver Broncos back in 2006. Though he never stayed on a team for long, he always made an impact even with his short stay. After being traded to the Bears in 2012, he brought a lot of star quality. Bears fans remember him as being a beast on the field, and his stellar connection with former QB Jay Cutler helped them win games. Marshall was dedicated to this team, and even played through some injuries. His best season of his career came in 2012, with the Bears, where he earned himself a career high in receptions and receiving yards.
After his stay in Chicago, Marshall bounced around a couple of teams, but his time with the Giants is one of the most important in his career. His stay with the Giants was very short, but Marshall revealed that it ruined his career.
During an interview on the YouTube show "Doctor Mike," Marshall revealed that an injury he sustained in a loss to the Chargers back in 2017 is what ruined his career. And what is to blame? The answer is turf.
"I knew it was over"

- Marshall said
The Giants play at MetLife Stadium, which uses turf on the field. Marshall goes on to say how turf is what causes so many non-contact injuries in football, and it has ruined so many other players careers. Marshall said:
"That was pretty much the last of me. I felt like I could've played a couple of more years, you know? That play was over"

After his injury, Marshall was out for the entire season, which then led to his release from the team, right after. After that season, Marshall struggled staying signed to a team, and played his last ever game in 2018 with the Seahawks.
Though Marshall ended his career in a disappointing way, his legacy will remain, especially with the Bears. He finished his career as a 6-time Pro Bowler, NFL receiving touchdowns co-leader in 2015, holds the record for the most receptions in a game, and is even a member of the 100 greatest Bears of All-Time list.
