Former Bears TE Becomes Viral Meme during Rose Bowl
Back in 2017, Michigan TE Jake Butt was seen as the next big thing coming into the NFL. Unfortunately, after being drafted by the Broncos, his career ended very soon due to previous injuries and current injuries.
Butt only appeared in a few games due to his large amount of injuries, and left Denver after his contract expired.
Butt then signed with the Bears after his rookie contract, but never made it to the active roster.
He then decided to retire from the NFL at the young age of 26.
Though his playing career ended quickly, Butt stayed in the football world as he has been working for the Big Ten Network for the past 2 years.
During the much anticipated Michigan/Alabama Rose Bowl matchup, Butt had the privilege of covering the game, but soon went viral over his appearance:
As seen, Butt is covered in sweat, and due to him being a former Michigan superstar, fans automatically assumed this was from nerves, but according to Butt, this was from sprinting on the field:
