Rourke went undrafted in 2020 and decided to play for the BC Lions of the CFL during the 2021 and 2022 season.
Following the 2022 CFL season, where Rourke threw for 25 touchdowns with 3,349 yards in only 9 starts, he was able to schedule a few workouts with NFL teams.
Rourke signed with the Jaguars in 2023 on a 3-year deal, making this his first NFL team of his career. Unfortunately injuries got in the way of making appearances in any games and he was released during the season.
He then was able to find a few new homes since, but was unable to stay on a team for long-term.
Rourke decided to rejoin the CFL as he re-signed with the BC Lions earlier this month.
Now, he will be the highest paid player in the CFL this upcoming season after signing a contract worth $600,000 a year.
