Hartman entered the spotlight during his senior year of high school, as he was one of the QBs to be featured in Netflix's "QB1: Beyond the Lights."
Hartman then entered college football in 2018 and spent the next 5 seasons at Wake Forest. During his time there, he was named as a Second-team All-ACC, Third-team All-ACC, and was awarded with the Brian Piccolo Award.
Hartman then transferred to Notre Dame for his final season.
Hartman finished the 2023 season in Notre Dame with a record of 9-3, throwing for 2,689 yards, 24 touchdowns, and only 8 interceptions.
Hartman is considered to be the best undrafted player in this years class.
