This is a really cool story!

The Eagles have signed wide receiver Devon Allen, a 27-year-old who at one time passed on a chance to pursue a professional football career to become an Olympic star. He is a three-time National Champion in the 110-meter hurdles and a two-time Olympian for the US Olympics team. He actually finishes fifth and fourth in the past two Olympics in the 110-meter hurdles.

However, Allen hasn't played football since 2016, his third season on the field at the University of Oregon. Allen worked out in front of NFL scouts at Oregon's Pro Day a while ago and he impressed the Eagles enough to earn himself a visit on Thursday and, as the team later announced, he also earned a contract!

Allen reportedly ran a 4,35, 40-yard dash at Oregon's pro day. In 2014 with the Ducks, the speedster was, not shockingly a dangerous deep threat catching 42 passes for 686 yards and 7 touchdowns. He however got injured in his two other seasons at Oregon and hasn't played much real football since. It will be fun to follow his story in the NFL!

Check out some of his highlights:
