Georgia Standout Jalen Carter Openly Discusses Impact of Off-Field Events on His Draft Stock
Jalen Carter has emerged as one of the most debated prospects in this year's draft, largely due to his no-contest plea for speeding and reckless driving charges following a multi-car accident that led to two fatalities. Despite these off-field concerns, Jalen Carter is considered a must-have prospect by many draft analysts, with his exceptional talent and perceived potential, likely securing him a position among the top 10 picks in the draft.
Carter openly expressed his thoughts on how the off-field incidents might impact his chances of being a high draft pick.
"Yes, I feel like it's gonna matter a little bit," Jalen Carter said when asked if he believes the incident will significantly influence his stock on NFL Draft day (h/t Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk). "Because, you know, NFL teams look deep into your life. But it could've been something I did back in elementary [school]. You know, I'm pretty sure they'd know. So you know, this coming out at the time it did come out I'm pretty sure is going to affect a little bit."

Despite Jalen Carter's concerns, Rosenhaus demonstrated full confidence in his client's stock by informing Adam Schefter of ESPN that they are not planning to visit non-top 10 teams for the upcoming draft.
"I wouldn't decline these visits if I wasn't confident that he was going to go in the top ten," Rosenhaus told Schefter. "This is a good guy. Jalen is a good kid. We'll stay in touch on this one. I know he is going to be one of the more compelling stories of the draft. You bet, Adam. Take care man, sure."
