The start of the 2022 NFL draft is one day away! It's finally here. The Bears don't have a first-round selection for the moment, but they do have 2 second-round picks as well as a third-rounder.

This will be GM Ryan Poles' first draft as a general manager in the NFL. He has the tough task of upgrading this Bears' roster!

Here is what he had to say:

"I think anytime you just improve the team overall, you're helping all of the players out," Poles said. "That can look different. You could say he needs receivers, receivers, receivers, but he needs blocking too, and he also needs balance, in terms of running the ball efficiently and getting that done up front. Then you can do some play-action pass stuff. You can do different things.

"It all touches -- turnovers, maybe a returner to flip the field, to score more points. So, it's all connected and that's really why the mindset is really to get the best players on this team as possible, and why if I get too lopsided, 'I gotta do this specific thing,' I think that's where you lead into big mistakes."

I truly believe in drafting the right players and developing them here and that will help us in the long run. Especially when we see a lot of these top receivers, it's crazy. It will benefit us to make sure we draft well and develop our own guys

He's right. When you have as many needs as the Bears have at this point, you really have to pick the best player available on your draft board, regardless of the position. I'm excited about this draft and I trust poles 100% to make the best picks!
