I'm certain that most of you have heard the news by now that Bears superstar linebacker Roquan Smith has requested a trade. He is in the middle of heated contract negotiation and he has been holding out of training camp so far this year.

Smith wrote that the new front office led by general manager Ryan Poles "doesn't value" him and has "refused to negotiate in good faith" while he looks for a new contract.

Here are a few of the most important part of the memo he sent out to the NFL world this morning.

"... every step of this journey has been 'take it or leave it,'" Smith wrote. "The deal sent to me is one that would be bad for myself, and for the entire LB market if I signed it. I've been trying to get something done that's fair since April, but their focus has been on trying to take advantage of me.

"I wanted to be a Bear for my entire career, help this team bring a Super Bowl back to our city. However, they have left me no choice than to request a trade that allows me to play for an organization that truly values what I bring to the table."

Well, I think that we have to also keep in mind during this ongoing situation that Roquan is actually not represented by an agent, and he represents himself.

NFL writer Aaron Leming Tweeted out that "we can all agree that Roquan Smith having an agent would probably be beneficial to both sides right now.

Poles even acknowledged that a few weeks back.

Curious to see if that changes over the next few days/week."

Without an agent, Roquan is at the front line of the negotiations and we can all agree that this is not always the best place to be.
