Yesterday was the start of a 3-day minicamp for the Bears. This means that we got a chance to see what the current starting lineup is looking like for the team. Let's focus on the offensive line for now.

Here is how it looked:

LT: Larry Borom

LG: Cody Whitehair

C: Lucas Patrick

RG: Sam Mustipher

RT: Teven Jenkins

I am frankly a little surprised by the tackles. I was absolutely certain that Teven Jenkins would be viewed as the clear left tackle. However, I don't think this is necessarily a knock on him but more a vote of confidence for Larry Borom. He played pretty well last year and he was able to adapt to a lot of tough situations thrown at him.

When asked on the subject, Matt Eberflus said after practice that is all part of a lengthy process of looking at guys in different spots.

However, I think the right guard spot is a glaring need for now. I don't believe Mustipher should be starting for the Bears come week 1. He can be a good depth piece and plug-in-play type of guy, but I don't think the Bears can feel confident if he starts.
