Following last year's trade with the Carolina Panthers, the Bears hold the coveted No. 1 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. While speculation abounds regarding their intentionswhether to retain Fields or select Caleb Williamsthe idea of leveraging the top pick for additional assets has gained traction.
Ali Bhanpuri of NFL.com presented several trade package concepts for the first overall pick, one of which involves sending the pick and standout running back Khalil Herbert to the Atlanta Falcons. In return, the Bears would acquire superstar running back Bijan Robinson, along with the No. 8 and No. 74 picks in this year's draft, plus the Falcons' first-round pick in 2025 and a third-round pick in 2026.
While such a deal would require the Falcons to part with a key offensive asset in Robinson, it offers the Bears a compelling opportunity to enhance their roster depth and offensive firepower. Acquiring Robinson, with his remaining four years under a rookie contract, not only strengthens their running game but also provides valuable cap relief, particularly if Fields progresses as expected and seeks a lucrative extension in the future.
While the Falcons may hesitate to trade Robinson, the potential benefits for both sides make this proposal worth considering. With a decision on their quarterback situation looming, the Bears must act decisively to maximize their return, whether they retain Fields or pursue other options.
