Following Wilson's expected release by the Broncos this offseason, due to his benching in the final two games of 2023 over contract dispute regarding injury guarantees amounting to $37 million for 2025, there is a trade proposal circulating. Ian Cummings of Pro Football Network has put forward a blockbuster three-team trade scenario. According to this proposal, the Broncos would acquire Tua Tagovailoa, the quarterback of the Miami Dolphins, along with the No. 137 pick. In return, the Dolphins would receive Justin Fields, the quarterback from the Chicago Bears, along with the No. 81 pick and Denver's second-round selection in the 2025 draft.
As for the Bears, Cummings suggests they would obtain the No. 182 pick, along with third and fifth-round picks in the 2025 draft from Miami and Denver, respectively. Furthermore, Cummings predicts that the Bears would use their first overall pick to select USC quarterback Caleb Williams.
It's highly likely that Fields would be available for trade if the Bears indeed opt for a quarterback with the top pick. While there is no indication that Miami plans to trade Tagovailoa during this offseason, his performance during the 2023 season, particularly in the playoffs where he threw 14 interceptions, has raised questions about his future with the Dolphins. Tagovailoa did lead the NFL in passing yards with 4,624 yards this season, but his struggles in the playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs (20-of-39 for 199 yards, one touchdown, and one interception) have spurred discussions about Miami potentially seeking a fresh start at the quarterback position.
