Insider reveals Claypool's role for the upcoming season with the Bears

Following a dismal 3-14 season, the Chicago Bears' wide receiver, Chase Claypool, anticipates significant changes to the team's roster.

"We're a young team in Chicago with plenty of money to spend," Claypool told Daily Hive. "I think we'll see a very different team, but in a positive way."

Like many young athletes, the 24-year-old Claypool is aiming to become one of the players that NFL teams are willing to invest in, whether consciously or subconsciously.

Heading into the final year of his rookie contract, Claypool is determined to bounce back after recording only one touchdown and 451 yards in 2022.

«This is definitely my biggest offseason yet," he said. "Understanding that and having a couple of offseasons under my belt has allowed me to refine my process and become more efficient."

Claypool didn't have the best start with the Bears after being traded, playing in just seven games and starting in three. He made 14 receptions for 140 yards but failed to score a touchdown for the team last season. Fans were understandably frustrated with his performance post-trade.

In an article by Dan Wiederer and Colleen Kane for the Chicago Tribune, new head coach Matt Eberflus explained the reasons behind Claypool's struggles in Luke Gety's offensive scheme last season. He emphasized the importance of Claypool fully understanding the playbook to contribute effectively to the offense:

"It's a little bit unfair for him to come in (midseason) and learn the offence that way and be an expert at it»

"Really for him, it's just about learning exactly what we're asking him to do, with the route running, with the motions," Eberflus said. "We have a lot of motions in our offence, and it's an essential piece for him to be effective."
