Is Ryan Poles doing the right thing?
After almost a week of free agency, I think it's safe to say that the Chicago Bears are one of, if not the least active team in the league. They have signed very few players. While most of the signings seem really nice on paper, they are still minor moves.
Bears fans have been used to extremely aggressive general managers in the past. The 3 past GMs Jerry Angelo, Phil Emery, and Ryan Pace all relied so much on free agency. I guess it's fair to say that their strategy did not work out very well for them...
I think Ryan Poles is actually going about it the nice way. He is giving safe, short-term contracts to most new additions. Let me remind you that next off-season, the Bears are projected to have over $110 million in cap space. While this number will shrink a little bit, it will still be very high.

While they might not be all available, there are still some pretty solid players on this list!
With that being said, the current strategy of Ryan Poles might be a little frustrating from the outside, but it's the right way to go about it. Be patient, Bears fan, our time is coming.
