Some of us learn the easy ways, others not so much. Such seems to be the case with Jaylon Johnson, the third-year Bear is currently working out with the second-string defense and people have noticed. A few weeks ago Eberflus gushed about Roquan Smith, Darnell Mooney, and David Montgomery, but had this to say about Johnson.
"Jaylon, you know a young player, is still a work in progress. He's got some things he's got to work on just like all the rest of those guys that are second-and third-year players. They've all got to work on stuff. Just ah, just keep working and we'll see where he goes.»
It seems Eberflus is trying to teach him that he has more potential the hard way. Whether he responds to it as a challenge or is just mad about his place on the team will determine his future with the Bears.
