Horsted signed with the Bears after going undrafted out of Princeton in 2019 and spent the last three seasons in Chicago. He spent all of 2020 on the practice squad but, over the course of three seasons, Horsted played in 13 games for the Bears, including one start.
He caught 2 passes and both went for touchdowns. He was expected to take on a bigger role in 2022 but that will obviously not be the case.
After a fantastic display in the final pre-season game of the 2021 season, some people believed the tight-end deserved a chance to prove his worth during the regular season. During that game, Horsted caught five passes for 104 yards and 3 Td's.
