The ultimate test for any Bears QB is whether or not they can beat the Packers. Twice a year we get our hopes up to put the beating on the FudgePackers and time and time again we leave disappointed. The last time I was at Soldier Field was the infamous " I own you" Rodgers game, needless to say, the tension on the way out was palpable.
I grew up during Favre and suffered under Rodgers. Now that old man Rodgers is a few years out from the retirement home, and Fields is the new young guy maybe he can usurp the throne. History says otherwise buteither way, Fields could care less.
Fields plays selflessly, and the 3 sacks per game he took last year to prove he can take the hits. Now with shiny new coaching staff, front office, and half a roster of new players, we could see him take off in his sophomore campaign. Whether the weapons that Poles has stacked up are enough is up to time and patience. For me, if we go 2-14 and the only wins we get are against Rodgers that is a winning season in my eyes.
