Ever since lifelong Kyle Long decided to retire, he's been on a nice media tour revealing lots of stories and giving some honest assessments. His latest stop was at 670 The Score where some of his most interesting comments involved reflecting on Jay Cutler and Marc Trestman. Two names that definitely stir up conversation and debate in Chicago. To start Long made it clear that getting drafted by the Bears was the perfect scenario. "Chicago's home. It's been amazing to me and my family. I'm very lucky to have been drafted here." When it comes to former head coach Trestman, he believes he was a bit misunderstood. "Trestman was a good guy. Kind of would come off as socially awkward. But I think he was just so friggin smart, guys would struggle to connect with him. Including myself."He feels the same way about Cutler who was more prepared than people believe. "Nobody was harder on me than Jay, and nobody was more supportive of me, at the other end, than Jay. The guy would show up at my house on 6:30 on a Wednesday just to make sure that I was awake for treatment. ... Now that's a good teammate."
