Jaylen Twyman saw the beginning of his career put on hold when he was shot four times in June 2021.

Twyman, a 6th round draft choice out of Pittsburgh in May 2021, was shot while in a vehicle on June 21, 2021, while visiting his family in his native town of Washington D.C. He spent all of last season on Minnesota's non-football injury list.

He hasn't played since the 2019 season when he had 10 1/2 sacks for the Pittsburgh Panthers. However, the reports have gotten better in recent weeks.

Vikings reporter Chris Tomasson reported that DT Jaylen Twyman, who was shot four times in his native Washington DC last June and missed rookie season while on the non-football injury list, has fully recovered and is expected to begin offseason drills on Monday.

In a text message shared with Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press, Twyman's agent Drew Rosenhaus said the defensive tackle is «fully recovered» from his injuries and he will be with the team as their offseason program gets underway this week.

Even though we are not supposed to like the Vikings, you have to agree that this is a great example of resilience and hard work. Many players in his position would have sat back and complained about how unlucky they are. Not him. He work twice as hard and he completed his rehabilitation. This is truly an amazing story and I will be pulling for him!
