Mitch Trubisky was training with Dwayne Haskins yesterday
We learned the tragic news this morning of the passing away of QB Dwayne Haskins, a standout at Ohio State before playing with Washington and Pittsburgh in the NFL. He died in a car accident near Boca Raton, Florida
Haskins was training in Florida with his Steelers teammates when this happened. We also learned that the players were invited by their new teammate, Mitch Trubisky. Obviously, this goes without saying that Mitch deserved 0% of the blame for this tragedy, but it's still so sad. Trubisky was just trying to build a bond with his new offensive teammates by welcoming them into his home.
It also shows how Haskins was a cool dude because he showed how welcoming he was to the new guy, even if he was likely going to take his starting job. No other Steelers quarterbacks even showed up other than him. This is the kind of genuine, loving guy that Dwayne Haskins was.
Trubisky and Haskins were also reportedly seen at Drive Shack last night in West Palm Beach just hanging together. This is such a sad day in the NFL and our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved in this heartbreaking situation.
