In a new mock draft from NFL analyst Chris Trapasso, he predicts that the Bears will trade away their number 1 pick to the Giants, and instead secure the 5th and 10th overall picks:
With the 5th pick, Trapasso has the Bears selecting UCLA edge rusher Laiatu Latu, along with them selecting LSU WR Malik Nabers at number 10.
Latu, who I have already written about before, has been an ongoing trend, but this is the first CBS mock that I have seen with Nabers.
Nabers just concluded his 3rd year at LSU, where he finished the 13 game season with 89 catches for 1,569 yards, along with 14 touchdowns. He was also named to the First-team All-SEC, Unanimous All-American, and was named as the 2023 Citrus Bowl MVP.
Though Marvin Harrison Jr. has been on most fans radars, the team will be unable to draft him if they trade away their picks. But, Nabers also shows qualities of becoming a superstar and a threat to defensive backs in the NFL.
If the Bears decide to draft Nabers, then he will be playing alongside standout (and pro bowl snub) DJ Moore, and those 2 will become QB Justin Fields' new favourite weapons.
