He's an excellent player that has incredible athletic abilities. He has 29 starts and 254 tackles. He is also a great special teams player and he could provide instant help in 2022 with the Bears. He was signed by the Oakland Raiders in 2017 and has spent 4 years with them. Morrow is 26 years old and he missed the entire 2021 due to a foot injury. Before this injury, he signed a one-year $4.5 million contract with the Las Vegas organization.
In 2020, he appeared in 15 games and he recorded 78 tackles, 3 sacks, a forced fumble and nine pass breakups. While he is not the biggest in size (225 pounds) he is excellent in pass coverage. He is also extremely explosive, he ran a 4,52 40-yard-dash. For instance, Bears' superstar Roquan Smith ran a 4,51!
Besides Roquan Smith, the Bears don't have much depth at the middle linebacker spot. He could have a shot at the starting spot opposing Smith. He should fit Matt Eberflus' scheme to perfection!
Morrow had an update on his health following his signing with the Bears.
«Right now, I'm healthy. I'm ready to go. In fact, had we won the first round of the playoffs last year, I would've been able to play."
This is really great news. We recently got to know what it feels like to lose out on a free agent signing because of an injury (ie. Larry Ogunjobi).
Here are a couple of Nicholas Morrow's highlights:
