New Reports Reveal How Bears CB Jaylon Johnson was ALMOST Traded Away

As revealed by insider Adam Schefter, the 49ers were interested in several other players before trading for Chase Young, including Bears CB Jaylon Johnson:

The 49ers made calls and offers to over teams, but ultimately traded away a third-round pick for former Commanders DE Chase Young.

Johnson was one of the names they were interested in though, and Johnson made it known that he wanted out on the day of the deadline.

It looks as though that the Bears were not satisfied with an offer, or simply did not want to let him go. If the Bears do not agree on an extension deal with Johnson, then he will likely be leaving Chicago ahead of the 2024 season.
