Boomer Esiason, who no longer covers the league for CBS but continues to share insider knowledge on his podcast, hinted at a potential partnership between the NFL and Netflix. On WFAN's "Morning Show with Boomer & Gio" this Wednesday, Esiason speculated that the Christmas game might be streamed on Netflix.
«Are you ready for this? This is what I think is going to happen. Could be wrong, but I don't think I am,» Esiason said. «Do not be surprised if the NFL and Netflix get in bed for a nice little Christmas Day football game. I would not be surprised.»
Netflix has been testing the waters with live events recently, debuting two over the past weekend. Katt Williams' 'Woke Foke' aired live on Saturday night, followed by Tom Brady's roast on Sunday. Additionally, Netflix will be the home of WWE Raw starting in January 2025.
Meanwhile, the NFL has already established itself in the streaming world, partnering with Amazon Prime for 'Thursday Night Football' and selling a playoff game to Peacock last season.
