The two names we have heard the most are Robert Quinn and Khalil Mack. I don't believe that trading Quinn is a realistic option because it would not make sense financially. By trading them, the Bears would only free up $4,425,000. The cap penalty would be over $12.7 million as well.
But, trading Mack makes a little more sense. The cap penalty would not be as bad. The thing is that Mack is still a very good player. He can still provide quality reps on the football field.
NFL Network analyst and lifelong Bears fan Adam Rank tweeted out today that Ryan Poles should not move Mack. I think he is right. The market for him would not be amazing. If you could get a first-rounder for him, sure let's trade him. However, I think the very best scenario is a second-round pick and it should not be the way to go for the Bears.
