During his youth football camp, Giants RB Saquon Barkley told reporters that he may be sitting out for the entire 2023 season.

Since being franchise tagged by the Giants, fans of all teams have been waiting to here if a deal has been made. The Giants have until later next month to agree to a deal, but if Barkley is not satisfied, then we may not be seeing him on the field in 2023.
When asked if he would sit out this season if a deal is not made, Barkley replied with:
"That comes up in the conversation if something doesn't get done by July 17"

Barkley goes on to say that he respects the team and they respect him, and he is hoping a deal is made. Barkley has been apart of the Giants since 2018, and has helped them win a Wild Card game in his first playoffs experience. Barkley has helped the Giants grow and is one of the best running backs in the NFL. The 2-time Pro Bowler has a lot of more football in him, so if he sits out this year, the NFL world will be missing a star.
The NFL world is not shocked by this possible decision, as we have seen another star RB sit out for an entire season. After being franchise tagged in early 2018, former Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell decided to sit out for the entire 2018 season. After that season, we got to see him back on the field, but not putting up the numbers he is used to. It seems like missing that whole year put a dent in his stats, and we have not seen Bell perform as a star since...
Will Barkley sit out this season? Will this negatively affect his NFL career? Only time can tell...
