NFL Network has made a significant announcement regarding a new hiring that is sure to generate excitement among fans.

The NFL Network hired a top CBS Sports journalist for an on-air reporter opening.

NFL Communications announced that the network is hiring Sherree Burruss, who will debut for NFL Network on Wednesday. The announcement added that Burruss will be the sideline reporter for Saturday's HBCU Legacy Bowl. Steve Wyche will be on the call for the game, with Bucky Brooks and Charles Davis serving as the analysts.

Burruss attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and began working as a sports reporter and anchor for ABC 17 in Chicago. Burruss' resume also includes a three-year stint with NBC 4 in Washington, D.C. as a sports reporter and anchor before she moved over to CBS Sports. Burruss mostly reported on the NFL and college football during her three years at CBS Sports.

At NFL Network, Burruss will work with a team that consists of other prominent reporters and insiders, including Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero, Mike Garafolo, and analytics expert Cynthia Freelund. She will also work alongside hosts Colleen Wolfe, Jason McCourty, Jamie Erdahl, Kyle Brandt, and Kimmi Chex, as well as analysts Kurt Warner, Joe Thomas, and Nate Burleson.
