Last season, former Bears' GM Ryan Pace made a couple of huge splashes in the 2021 NFL draft. The biggest one was by far when he traded up to get to the 11th spot to pick up Justin Fields. Many scouts had Fields as the second-best quarterback in the draft. It was honestly great value to draft Fields at this spot. There is a very good argument to be made that Justin should have gone to the Jets with the second overall pick.

His rookie season was nowhere near perfect, but it was extremely encouraging.

Pro Football Focus also liked some of the lather picks for Chicago. Running back Khalil Herbert and cornerback Thomas Graham Jr were both tremendous value at the spot they went. Herbert was drafted with the 217 pick while Graham had to wait until the 228th spot. They both showed some very promising things on the field.

Furthermore, the Bears also drafted two offensive linemen. Teven Jenkins went in the second round and Larry Borom was picked in the 5th round. Jenkins' rookie season was unfortunately injury-plagued. Borom did play a lot as a rookie. He had some bad moments and some good ones also. For a 5th rounder, as a rookie, that is what you expect.

In conclusion, the 2021 draft class was a pretty good one and it should keep getting better and better with time. This is very exciting stuff.
