Former Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase might try and pluck an old friend and key piece of the Bears front office. On Wednesday, the New York Jets announced that they had fired general manager Mike Maccagnan and Gase would take over as interim GM. The position will likely be filled before the season begins and it's being linked to a member of the Bears front office. According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Bears Assistant Director of Player Personnel Champ Kelly is a top candidate. "Champ Kelly in Chicago, another one very highly thought of [also] close with Gase. [He's] another personnel name on the rise. That is another name to kind of keep an eye on here." Rapoport said. Kelly has been with the Bears organization since 2015 and before he became Assistant Director of Player Personnel he was the team's Director of Pro Scouting. This will definitely be an interesting story line to follow.
