The Chicago Bears are pretty strapped for cash when it comes to their salary cap situation. The team can't even sign all their rookie draft picks at the moment, but that won't stop general manager Ryan Pace from window shopping. Pace will eventually clear some cap space somehow and it won't just be to sign his rookies according to one Bears' insider. Bears' insider Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports that the Bears are showing strong interest in a free agent cornerback. Biggs reports that the Bears are looking at free agent Bashaud Breeland. "An NFL source said the Bears have expressed interest in free agent Bashaud Breeland, one of a small group of experienced cornerbacks remaining on the market. Previously, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler listed the Bears as one of a large group of teams that were a possibility of Steven Nelson. Richard Sherman remains on the market but he likely is going to be more expensive than the cap-strapped Bears can afford and he could be looking to join a clear contender."Breeland had two interceptions and nine passes defended last year and played for Mike Pettine in Green Bay during the 2018 season.
