The Philadelphia Eagles finally got their deal done yesterday and moved on from Carson Wentz sending him to the Indianapolis Colts. The QB was sent to Indy for a 2021 third-round draft pick and a conditional 2022 second-round pick that could turn into a first-rounder.Before the deal went down we heard multiple reports that the Bears had made a big offer for Wentz. Hours before Wentz was traded, a report came out that the Bears never made an offer and it seems like there wasn't any talk at all. According to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer, the Bears did a bit of homework on Wentz but never made an offer or had any real communication with the Eagles. Now reports indicate that the Eagles themselves actually started the Bears rumors to drive the price up during the Colts negotiations, the Colts started to catch on and stood firm on their offer.
Colts were really only spot that made sense. Bears did their homework but never made an offer, Colts were the players in this. Eagles got what they could — Jay Glazer (@JayGlazer) February 18, 2021
