It has been a long and frustrating year for Chicago Blackhawks' superstar Patrick Kane. From enduring a season at the bottom of the NHL standings to enduring trade rumors, it has undoubtedly taken a toll on Kane.

The good news is that Kane could be traded within the next fortnight if he believes that his hip is fit enough to play in the playoff atmosphere. Several teams are vying to acquire him, including the New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Edmonton Oilers.

However, one team that Kane has declined straight up is the New York Islanders. According to Stefen Rosner, a reporter covering the Islanders, Kane has "no interest" in joining them before the trade deadline. The Islanders have already acquired Bo Horvat for a multi-piece package that included their top prospect and a first-round pick in 2023. Adding Kane would require a significant amount as well, so the fact that the Islanders are still linked to the Blackhawks forward is quite surprising.

Kane is unhappy in Chicago and has recently criticized the team's player development. He has been frustrated with management's communication on the rebuild, and it seems that the days of the Blackhawks great in the Windy City are winding down.

This is good news for other cities, including Toronto, after the most recent rumors that Kane is headed to the Maple Leafs. However, that has yet to be confirmed, so it should be taken with a grain of salt. Regardless, it will be an exciting couple of weeks to find out if or where Kane is going. Stay tuned, folks.
