Something fell apart for the Dolphins after their bye week. Miami's five-game winning streak, against non-playoff teams, was shattered when they lost to the 49ers, then the Chargers, Bills, Packers, and now the Patriots.

Their head coach Mike McDaniel, once considered by fans to be a genius, has been unable to change his offensive playcalling after defenses have figured out how to defend it.

According to Armando Salguero of OutKick, the Dolphins could part ways with head coach Mike McDaniel if they lose on Sunday to the Jets.

«If they win their season finale and sneak into the playoffs, owner Stephen Ross might look the other way on those five consecutive December-January losses because it will feel more like a skid than a collapse,» Salguero wrote. «But If the Dolphins go from 8-3 to 8-9 and not in the playoffs? Everybody's job is at risk.»

Miami started journeyman Teddy Bridgewater against New England, who threw for 161 yards and a touchdown before leaving the game with a finger injury in the third quarter. Rookie seventh-round pick Skylar Thompson took over for Bridgewater and threw for 104 yards, one touchdown, and an interception.

It's still unclear who will start this Sunday for the Dolphins against the Jets, but safe to say it will be a must-win game for them.

Tagovailoa has now suffered two concussions this season. The latest apparently didn't jar him enough to take him out of the game against the Packers, but he entered protocol the very next day.
