There is a lot of speculation surrounding Jim Harbaugh as the College Football Playoff approaches.

The head coach of the Michigan Wolverines has been linked to a potential return to the NFL. However, his current team is eager to retain him and is prepared to offer him a lucrative contract. According to Colin Cowherd of FOX Sports, the Los Angeles Chargers are prioritizing the signing of Harbaugh following the firing of Brandon Staley. They would welcome him back to the professional ranks if he decides to leave college football.

While the Wolverines are facing potential consequences for COVID-19 violations and the results of the Connor Stalions sign-stealing investigation are pending, Cowherd believes that Harbaugh will be in a favorable position. If the NCAA imposes harsh penalties, he can simply make a move to a high-paying NFL coaching job.

"Jim Harbaugh is going to be just fine," declared the FOX Sports host. "If the NCAA comes down too hard, he'll simply make the switch."

Cowherd also criticized the NCAA for what he deemed "petty" actions, highlighting that misinformation about COVID-19 was widespread during the pandemic, and sign-stealing is permissible up to a certain extent.

"To Jim Harbaugh's critics, he's going to succeed," he added. "He'll thrive, and in the NFL, he could command a salary of $20 million per year."

It's worth noting that currently, Bill Belichick is the only NFL coach earning $20 million a year, but Cowherd suggests that this could change in the near future if his predictions hold true.
