In a typical year, selecting USC quarterback Caleb Williams with the first overall pick would be an obvious choice. However, after third-year QB Justin Fields showcased the best season of his early career, there's a valid argument for the Chicago Bears to consider trading the pick and building around Fields.

Nonetheless, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport suggests that acquiring the No. 1 pick from the Bears would require an unprecedented package:
"Acquiring the No. 1 overall selection from the Bears would demand an extraordinary haul of draft picks and overall compensation, according to sources. One source described it as 'crazy.'"
This stance implies that the Bears, who acquired the pick in a significant trade last offseason with the Panthers, are leaning towards making the selection and securing their new franchise quarterback.
If the Bears are seeking such substantial compensation for the top pick, it strongly suggests their intention to draft a new QB. In this scenario, GM Ryan Poles could potentially acquire additional draft assets by trading Fields to another team in need of a quarterback.
