Retired NFL Referee Believes D.J. Moore Was Wrongfully Penalized For Taking His Helmet Off

In a painful twist, it turns out Panthers wide receiver D.J. Moore never should have gotten a flag in their loss to the Falcons, according to NFL rules.

On Sunday, Carolina Panthers quarterback P.J. Walker made what many consider «the best throw of the year.»

In his exuberant celebration, Moore ripped off his helmet. NFL officials called a flag, which kicked the extra point back 15 yards. Panthers kicker Eddy Pineiro wasn't having a day and missed the kickthen missed another game-winning opportunity in overtime.
